Alan Kerr To Step Down

Alan Kerr, the Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council is to step down before the next local elections in May 2010. Councillor Kerr’s health is fast deteriorating and he has decided to call it a day to spend more time with his family.

Mr Monkey has been told that councillor Kerr plans to resign around March next year. This will lead to a by election in May and allow the Labour party to concentrate on winning Mr Kerr’s seat which is the Indy Alliance has been coveting.

Mr Monkey wishes councillor Kerr well at this difficult time.
